Overview
The department teaches different pharmacological groups according to their pharmacological effect in terms of chemical composition and methods of preparation as well as control in terms of quantity and quality according to the pharmacopeias.
Pharmaceutical Organic chemistry is one of the basic sciences in the Faculty of Pharmacy and most medicines are organic compounds. Without the remarkable progress in organic chemistry, especially the chemistry of heterogeneous organic compounds, as well as stereochemistry, new drugs would not have been discovered or recognized.
