At the Faculty of Pharmacy, Suez Canal University (SCU), the Orientation day is an annual meeting. The Student’s Council along with the President, the Vice President, Faculty Dean, and Vice Deans, welcome the newcomers who choose to join the Faculty of Pharmacy, SCU. The orientation day was held during the first week of the first year, to provide them with all the details about the student council, the faculty, the departments, the courses, and how to succeed in it.

Under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of Suez Canal University in Ismailia, and Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Naeem, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, the Faculty of Pharmacy organized a welcoming ceremony for new students on the occasion of the start of the new academic year.
The event was attended by Prof. Dr. Safwat Abdelmaksoud, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Dr. Randa Ali Abdel Salam, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Dr. Mohamed El-Sayed, Head of the Academic Advising Committee; Prof. Dr. Ali Abdellah, Professor of Microbiology and Immunology; as well as Heads of Departments, faculty members, and representatives of the Youth Welfare and Public Relations offices.
During the ceremony, students were warmly welcomed and congratulated. They were introduced to the Faculty’s administration, buildings, departments, laboratories, lecture halls, and service facilities such as libraries, student affairs offices, youth welfare services, and other available resources.
Students were also introduced to their assigned academic advisors and informed about the advisory role and support provided to them throughout their academic journey.
Through organizing such events, the Faculty aims to warmly welcome new students, establish effective communication channels with them, and provide them with the motivation needed to move forward confidently in their academic path. The celebration also encourages new students to engage positively within the Faculty’s integrated community alongside senior students, faculty members, teaching assistants, and administrative staff.

- In an atmosphere filled with pride and honor, the Faculty of Pharmacy at Suez Canal University organized the second day of its annual orientation meeting to welcome a new cohort of students, under the patronage of Prof. Dr. Nasser Mandour, President of the University.
- The event was held under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Mohamed Abdel Naeem, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, who emphasized that such meetings reflect the University’s genuine commitment to supporting its students by clarifying academic regulations and student services from the very beginning of their university journey, ensuring clarity of vision and a well-integrated educational pathway.
- Prof. Dr. Safwat Abdelmaksoud, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, delivered a welcoming speech expressing his pride in welcoming a new class to the Faculty. He affirmed that the Faculty’s mission is to prepare competent pharmacists capable of competing locally and internationally through advanced academic programs and state-of-the-art laboratories.
- The meeting was attended by several prominent leaders from the Faculty and the University, including Dr. Mohamed Yassin, Director of the Academic Support Center, who presented the various services offered by the Center to support students academically, psychologically, and socially.
- Dr. Randa Abdel Salam, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, highlighted that the program included valuable lectures, most notably a presentation by Dr. Tamer Hassanein, Director of the Management Information Systems Unit, on electronic services.
- As part of promoting student awareness, Dr. Safaa Keshk, Director of the Faculty’s Information Technology Unit, delivered a lecture on laboratory safety and security, while Dr. Aziza El-Sayed Mostafa, Director of the Faculty Academic Support Unit, introduced the services provided by the unit, reaffirming its commitment to fostering academic excellence and student integration.
- The ceremony was attended by several faculty members, including Prof. Dr. Marwa Azab, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology. The event was presented by student Sama Essam.
- The ceremony began with a recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an by student Youssef Ayman and was organized by the Student Union of the Faculty of Pharmacy.
